Director of Sales

Are you a strategic, results-driven sales leader with a passion for mountain resorts and proven experience in remote team leadership? Sun Peaks Grand is seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead and elevate our sales efforts across accommodations and event venues. This critical role focuses on driving occupancy and revenue growth through innovative, tailored sales strategies, solidifying Sun Peaks Grand as a premier, year-round destination.

As Director of Sales, you will oversee sales operations across crucial segments in this hybrid role, including transient, group, SMERF, tour, and weddings/events. Collaborating closely with Marketing and resort leadership, you’ll develop and execute impactful, data-driven sales initiatives to achieve ambitious revenue and occupancy goals. You’ll lead a high-performing, remote sales team, leveraging your expertise in hotel sales systems—especially Opera—while aligning with Sun Peaks Grand’s values and vision. Compensation Information: $90,000 base salary with a performance incentive plan

Accountabilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Revenue Generation: Lead targeted sales strategies for all market segments to meet revenue and occupancy goals, focusing on securing high-value, multi-day bookings.
  • Market Analysis & System Expertise: Use Opera and other systems to manage bookings, track trends, and analyze data, optimizing sales processes to drive revenue growth.
  • Remote Team Leadership: Inspire, manage, and support a remote sales team, fostering engagement, collaboration, and accountability through strong virtual leadership.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate lasting relationships with corporate clients, special event planners, and tour operators, positioning Sun Peaks Grand as a top choice for extended stays and unique events.
  • Sales Performance Analysis & Reporting: Track and report on key performance metrics, using data insights to refine strategies and maintain alignment with financial goals.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Marketing and senior leadership to create campaigns that maximize visibility and drive bookings for Sun Peaks Grand’s offerings.
  • Community & Industry Engagement: Act as an event brand ambassador, supporting Sun Peaks Grand’s commitment to community and sustainability.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of sales experience in luxury hotels or resorts, including 3+ years in a remote leadership role.
  • Expertise in Opera and other hotel systems, with a strong background in data-driven revenue management.
  • Proven success across multiple sales segments, especially corporate events, weddings, and extended stays.
  • Skilled in remote team leadership with a collaborative and motivational style.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a focus on metrics-driven decision-making.
  • Commitment to sustainability and community engagement in hospitality.
